Summer is here and by now you have replaced your long sweaters and long sleeve shirts for light summer dresses shorts and tanks so it’s also time to change your lingerie to flatter your summer wardrobe.
So often I see ladies in beautiful slinky strap dresses and the whole illusion is shattered by unflattering lumps, bumps, pant line, wrong size or style of bra and visible bra straps.
It doesn’t matter what size or shape you are, its all about being well groomed In other words, it’s working with what you have and making the best of yourself.
Caring about the details shows personal respect and respect to those about you.
With the right foundation garments you can make an inexpensive garment look like a million dollars. I know I have touched on this subject in a previous blog but a little reminder never goes astray.
Summer Essentials
T- Shirt Bra
T-shirt bras are designed to be worn with the clingiest tops, and won’t ever show a line. The seamless cup will look invisible under clothing. They come in a variety of fabrics shapes and sizes. Depending on your needs and your bust size you can choose from just a thin moulded shape to a slight push up to a super boost. Check that the bra is fitting so the top edge is not showing through your cloths. Invest in a good quality brand with a thin edge. Triumph Endless Comfort and Freya Idol are a my two favourites.
Strapless bra/six way convertibles
These bras offer endless opportunity for wearing the ever changing designs of summer dresses and tops. Supportive comfortable strapless bras do exist I recommend a very simple, smooth one that will disappear under your clothing. As for colour, it depends on your wardrobe. Important take your outfit with you when buying a bra for a particular outfit Triumph Silhouette strapless bra is my recommendation.
Seam free brief
Nothing looks worse than a nice slinky dress or slim fitting slack showing a very obvious panty line. There are many varieties of seam free briefs available, it’s good to have both black and nude.
Nude Slip
Warmer weather is far more comfortable with lighter weight fabrics, but these fabrics (even in darker colours) can be quite transparent, especially on a bright sunny day. Having a nude slip can prevent embarrassing exposure, and if you choose wisely it won’t add too much weight or heat. I recommend the Essence micro fibre slip which skims the body without adding bulk under slim dresses and doesn’t cling even in high humidity. Free of adornments, it won’t ruin the look or line of your summer frocks. Adjustable straps and plenty of stretch make the slip comfortable and well-fitting.
Nude Thong
I know some of you despise thongs, but I find nothing better to prevent visible panty lines (VPL) with white or lightweight pants.
